Deep Range Exploratory Probe

The future of space travel is unmanned and far-ranging Robots. Robotic vehicles or ROVs have already been used. Soon we'll used better rockets to carry these vehicles farther, and AI to control them at their destinations.
This is my fictional idea of such a deep roaming probe. The command station is unmanned and capable of handling information and making basic calls. It phones home with a kind of hyper-speed gravity ping, like Morse code, at FTL speed. This is highly dramatized with concepts I believe are physically impossible. Such "grand machine" objects and systems feature as main McGuffins and objects of importance within my fantasy future world.
